I have a satin dress that is too big for me!
It has corset sides, so the sides at least fit, but the tank top sleeves are too long! and the opening for the chest is way too large ( so my mother said I couldn't do anything to resize it) Does anyone have ideas to quickly modifying this dress? I need it for tommorow |

If by the top you mean, your chest size, I suggest going to Victoria's Secret or Target or Wal-Mart and finding some gel inserts that give you that extra clevage, that'll fill up the top of the corset dress. If you have to tape the gel inserts onto your skin, and worry about taking them off later that night. That way your ladies are pushed up and no one will tell the dress is too big on top.
The tank top sleeves however will take some mending, with a needle and siszors. In the back of the dress cut the tank top straps, then put the dress on.... and take the strap as it's cut and fit to to you however long it needs to be to fit your shoulder and tuck it behind the part you cut it from...then safety pin it while it tucks behind where it was cut or have your mom safety pin it....then take the dress off and stitch the strap where the fabric is overlapping on itself.... |
