Are you supposed to pop whiteheads or just let them be? Please explain why.

they say not to because it could scare. But man, who wants to walk around with a huge whitehead? pop that baby!

You can pop a whitehead, but you have to do it correctly.
1) Take a safety pin and poke a hole, or two, in it.
2) Squeeze. (To be even more technical about it, you have to sort of get under the pimple and then squeeze. But that's hard to explain via typing. LOL.)

Here's why you shouldn't pop a whitehead (this is if you do it wrong):
If you don't pop a hole in it first, the pressure from the squeezing will actually force some of the bacteria back down into your skin. Sometimes, ultimately, scarring your skin.

Does that make sense? You need to make a hole for the pus to escape easily.
